Do you remember all the reports of the ridiculous waits at polling places? Lines for voting in the most recent of election won by Obama against Romney reached a new record height. The pop-star and Atlanta native was ushered to the front of the line at his polling center. Though Usher wasn’t necessarily “cutting” as it was later confirmed that Usher had actually made arrangements for voting in advance. Are our busy lives just less important than that of a celebrity? Instead of giving these special privileges to the disabled and elderly, they were given to celebrities. The frustration expressed by those “normal” people also standing in line to exercise their right is expected. Everyone who stands in that line is doing the country a favor by casting their opinion. These special treatments need to be removed.
