The first current event that I read was one about the newly-found concern for caffeine consumption. After the release of the Mio energy drink, scientists found that if the entire Mio were to be taken at one time, it contains enough caffeine to sicken children and send some to the hospital. Some state legislatures are now considering limiting the consumption of caffeine in the same ways as alcohol.
The other interesting fact I read about was the newly-found interest in natural gas in Iran. Irani citizens are now buying cars that run on natural gas. I find it extremely ironic that a petroleum powerhouse like Iran would have a rising trend in its natural gas, seeing as they have an abundance of natural gas.
