Current Event: 42 year old Woman killed in a fatal car accident

Roughly every thirteen minutes someone dies in a car accident in the United States. It is even more relevant with our generation. An article from the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Woman, 42, struck and killed by vehicle on I-575, is an account of a woman who attempted to cross I-575 and killed by a nissan altima. They have not currently known why she would have crossed the interstate.
Many mindless acts are committed while one is under the influence. Blood tests are being performed to figure out if the woman was under the use of alcohol. This not only reflects on the carelessness act portrayed in the article but on our every day lives. Most people get in a car or some other sort of manual vehicle every day. Especially in such a crowded city-Atlanta, Georgia- drivers need to be more cautious. Many factors are prevalent in todays age and time. Not only with all the advanced technology accounting for a major distraction, we have to drive defensively. Even so the woman who was hit could have been under the influence-if we as drivers make a better effort to stay alert- car accident and car accident related deaths will drop.
